Cloud Migration

Windows Small Business Server 2011 retirement with emails migration to Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint Online and Microsoft Intune

All services and functions of the server were migrated to the Microsoft cloud.  We migrated email from Microsoft Exchange 2010 to Microsoft Office 365.  For machine and user identity management Microsoft Enterprise Mobility & Security was deployed allowing all PCs to be Azure Active Domain Joined.

Security was significantly improved with Windows Hello for Business, BitLocker encryption, Multi Factor Authentication, and conditional access.  Microsoft Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection added further security solutions.

Files were migrated to SharePoint Online document libraries and OneDrive for Business.

Problem Statement

Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2011 was approaching the end of its life, as was Microsoft Exchange 2010.  This presented security concerns and compatibility issues with newer versions of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Windows.

While good in the day, this legacy platform was now holding back growth and agility.

Solution & Benefits

From legacy solution that was fantastic in its day to a state-of-the-art cloud first solution!

Right from the initial discussions the CTM team understood our requirements and were prepared to implement a solution that works for us. Our systems are now 100% cloud based which significantly decreases our risk by removing any single point of failure and also allows far more stable working for remote teams
