Office move of 100+ users, server cluster & networking infrastructure
Envea UK Ltd (formally PCME Ltd.) are a £10m+ firm, employing over 100 staff and are based in Swavesey, Cambridgeshire. They design and manufacture industrial particulate and flue gas velocity monitoring equipment and supply worldwide.
Problem Statement
Due to sustained growth, Envea UK planned to move from their facilities in St Ives to larger modern campus just north of Cambridge, near Swavesey.
The move would require relocation of client machines & associated peripherals, server clusters, networking equipment and the commissioning of a new high speed wide wireless network.
The downtime window was tightly controlled and ctm IT Support were one of many companies involved in the project.
Solution & Benefits
As a critical-path supplier, ctm IT Support were involved in months of detailed planning, scheduling and technical consultations.
The leased line and core infrastructure were brought online ahead of schedule, giving maximum flexibility and minimum risk, as the downtime window approached.
The cut-over to the new site and systems happened without technical issue, on schedule and within budget.
We took the opportunity to consolidate down the number of physical network switches and the number of virtual networks, simplifying the IT infrastructure while maintaining security and performance.
