Relocate the IT systems to a new processing facility & deploy a virtual host server
Dani Organic Foods Ltd employs around 40 staff at their Canterbury processing facility in Kent and an additional 160 staff worldwide. As the one of the largest suppliers of organic food ingredients across Europe and the UK they have expertise in imports, exports, food stuff processing plus packaging.
Problem Statement
As a result of growth, Dani Organic Foods were relocating to newer and bigger premises. In parallel to the office move, they were looking to deploy a new warehouse processing application. The old server and workgroup configuration simply wouldn’t be capable.
The new IT system needed to be ready at the new site ahead of move weekend.
Solution & Benefits
In preparation for the move, we deployed a new Dell PowerEdge server and networking equipment at the new site. Using Microsoft Hyper-V, we deployed two virtual guests providing a solid foundation for the new IT systems.
Remote users and executives can access the systems using Microsoft Remote Desktop Services.
With email on Office 365, all the PCs were domain joined and data migrated to the new servers over the move weekend.
Dani Organic Foods were able to cutover their entire company site and IT systems in a single weekend. Production stopped on Friday evening and started on Monday morning!
