Harris Tobias Application and Hardware Update
Harris Tobias have evolved into leaders in the general waste sector, as well as maintaining their core commodity trading business.
Harris Tobias identified the need to upgrade the outdated hardware that runs their line of business application to minimise the risk of failure, (hence increasing the level of their disaster recovery planning) and ensure the availability of technical support over the following 5 years. The software is central to their business processes.
ctm undertook a project to migrate the outdated trading system to 21st century hardware. As part of this we:
- Installed and configured new hardware along with the latest operating systems to increase system stability and future supportability.
- Upgraded the database system to improve speed and performance for users.
- Implemented the trading system on a virtual platform to consolidate the old system onto a single, high performance server.
- Made bespoke updates to the trading software itself to ensure it ran on the up-to-date hardware.
