Jefferies Solicitors Infrastructure Upgrade
Jefferies Solicitors identified the need to upgrade their IT Infrastructure, particularly their aging servers, to improve network performance, data security and future supportability.
Established in 1898, Jefferies Essex LLP Solicitors provide a range of legal services to both local and national businesses and individuals.
ctm undertook a project to replace the old servers, as well as updating other network infrastructure. As part of this we:
- Replaced their existing 3 servers, running legacy operating systems, including Novell Netware 5, with 2 new servers running Windows Server 2008 64bit Small Business Edition and a Windows 2003 member server.
- Installed an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) to allow the servers to shut down safely in the event of power loss, further improving data security.
- Consolidated the existing 3 internet connections into 1.
- Migrated emails, user, data, computers, printers and applications to a new Active Directory.
- Worked with line of business application vendors to migrate these to the new Infrastructure and set out plans for a second phase upgrade.
